The outline of Computer Assistant Language Learning(CALL)

When I talk about CALL, first I will associate with wikispaces that is a good insividual spaces to share and write down your own feeling and experieces. The second one is blogger, it's a great blog to show your own life experiences or just keep writing a diary on it. Besides, everyone can surf your blog and leave a feedback to you, so it's very convenient. The third is RSS, it's a convenient tool of book others articles and information. The fourth is YouTube, that's bvery popular in modern society that everyone download information from it. You can also upload movies or music by sharing or changing with others. The fifth one is Windows Moviemaker, this is an useful software to help you make a wonderful and well-organized movie. You can cut and arrange the plots, and even you can add some background music in it. The last also the sixed one is Firefox, Firefox is a nice tool for you to catch movies from YouTube, but you have to make sure of installing the software and then you can use it.

Phonics Lessons for Children

I find two great phonics teaching lesson on youtube. They are:
1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR8n2NyJH8c&annotation_id=annotation_254572&feature=iv

2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWEiZ0IXOj8

I think they are very good for ESL beginners to learn, if they are not familiar with the alphabet from A-Z, I suggest teacher can use the first website. And if your students are very clear all the sounds of alphabet then you can choose the second website to your students for fun. The second website is a alphabet song, it's a little bit fast so teachers have to check the students understand or not before you use it .

My reflection for Web2.0 and ESL writing on blogs

Web2.0 is a newly way for us to learn more information and the modern technology. We can search every kind of information and share others articles, music, video and even we can subscribe other's articles for us to reading. I think it's a convenient way to catch the update news and message that I can know everything fashion or speciall whereever I live.

I think YouTube is really a nice tool for searching every issues and information. It’s not only including the music to download but some interesting movies or short drama to watch. Because of the technological resources are richer than before that everyone could easier to catch it at ant time and everywhere!

Also, I think wiki is a great tool for practicing English writing. Since I learn to use this on-line resources I make a great progress than before I use it. Writing on-line is very casual and free that I can type down my feelings and something happiness or sorrow. I think I will keep to use this good tool !

What's your web 2.0?

Web2.0 is all about web-based communities and services that make it easy for people to share and collaborate. There’s an old post from around a year ago by Think Vitamin where he reasons that social web apps are great and all, but casual users don’t have the time to use them. He then goes on to interview the founders of several social software startups and finds out that most of them don’t use more than five either.
Does that still hold true? I’m going to bug a bunch of people and try to find out. At the very least this should give some ideas about which apps are popular and help me discover some new ones.

What is Web 2.0?
  • Web-based software
  • You can create and modify your own data
  • Some social-networking aspects (friends list, etc)

The Rules
Link to this post and the post of whoever tagged you.
Create a list of the web2.0 sites you use and categorize them from “daily use” to “weekly use” to “monthly use”. Include links to your accounts if you want so people can friend you.
Tag a bunch of people you want to join in.
Even if you haven’t been tagged yet, feel free to participate in the comments or to join in on the meme with your own blog.

My Web 2.0
Daily Use

Del.icio.us for creating my linkblog
Google Reader for tracking other blogs

Weekly Use
1.Facebook for real life friends
2.Wikipedia for looking stuff up quickly
3. Digg for submitting/voting on sites
4. Reddit for submitting/voting on sites
5. StumbleUpon for submitting/voting on sites
6. Twitter for creating my linkblog

Monthly Use
1.LinkedIn for keep in touch with business contacts
2. Flickr for photos, and friends’ photos
3. RottenTomatoes for ranking movies
4. Amazon.com for ranking books
5. Yahoo Pipes for creating RSS feed filters
6. Tumblr for aggregating my online presence
7. MyBlogLog … admittedly I don’t do much with it anymore

I think I use way more than the average person, mostly because I’m a blogger.
